| Youth Development Specialist |

Job Summary:
This position provides support and training of residents, including but not limited to, supervision of residents and appropriate behavior intervention; counseling, guidance and emotional support; and development of life skills through training programs. The Youth Development Specialist Postition is referred to as Drill Sergeant in the Communtity Service Platoon.
Qualifications:
Experience with at-risk youth preferred. Experience operating 15 passenger style vans perferred. Military Experience preferred in the Community Service Platoon (CSP).
Minimum age requirement is 21 years in residential programs and 18 years in Detention. Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively. Capable of working responsibly with highly confidential information and of maintaining composure under duress. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must meet all agency requirements for pre-employment as required by the Southwest Youth Village and/or state regulations.
