| The Lakeview Junior-Senior High School is very proud of the success rate for those students taking the GED test. Since the new GED was implemented in 2002, the Youth Village has a 90% pass rate. This rate continues to be one of the highest passage rates in the State of Indiana. So far in 2007, there have been six students pass the GED. Since the Youth Village opened in 1995, over 325 students have passed the GED test.
The State of Indiana requires students to be 17 years of age to be eligible to take the GED. Students must also have succesfully passed the GED practice exam before being allowed to take the GED. To qualify for GED, students need to score at least an 8.0 in reading, mathematics, and language on the TABE. Students who score lower than 8.0 on the TABE are given remedial courses in order to raise their scores to qualify for GED coursework. |
